My name is Anthony Burrill. I’m a graphic artist living and working in Rye, East Sussex.

I found a home in the art room at school, and thanks to the encouragement of my inspirational art teacher, I applied to art school. I studied graphic design at Leeds Polytechnic and later at the Royal College of Art in London. I graduated in the early nineties and have worked independently ever since.

My work is rooted in the history of graphic design through my use of vintage letterpress type. However, the subject matter is contemporary and reflects my lived experience in the world. My aim is to connect with people through my work.

Working with Printed by Us was a great collaboration and something I’m very proud of. I want my work to resonate with people, encouraging them to think and engage.

I shared my artwork that says “You & Me”, which is one of my best-known pieces. It speaks to our shared connections and sense of community. It’s about togetherness and feeling part of something larger. These themes run through all my work and are something I believe are important to talk about. I also did “HOPE” and “Questions/Answers” for Printed by Us.

Art connects us like nothing else, whether it’s music, a mural on a wall, or a postcard. These connections are powerful and give our lives meaning. Shared experiences through art bring people together in profound ways.

What’s next for me? Every new project is exciting. I love the unpredictable nature of what I do. Anything could happen at any time. It’s both scary and exhilarating. I’m always looking for new ways to share my work with the world.

With best wishes, Anthony
