Matthew the horse is an illustrator, print maker and poet. Employing naive and expressive line work alongside bold, graphic forms and simple colour palettes, Matthew The Horse makes work that feels both familiar and unreal. Working across editorial, advertising, publishing and print, his client list includes The Guardian, The New York Times and The Economist. Short listed for the AOI World Illustration awards 2017 & 2019, he is currently working towards his third children book and second collection of daft poems.

Hand printed in Leeds by someone in recovery from homelessness and other challenging circumstances. Through Printed By us, they have learned new skills and are moving forward towards employment. All income is reinvested back into Printed By us Leeds – a St George’s Crypt initiative.
